Best Bonuses in Florida Casinos

The best bonuses in Florida online casinos often begin raining down on Floridians simply by registering a new player account. That’s correct – there’s no need to make a deposit! When you’re ready to make that first deposit, you’ll find a friendly welcome bonus, usually consisting of a match deposit and free spins for use on casino games.

What makes a bonus the best? Indeed, the amount of bonus money and free spins on slot machines plays a big part! But that’s only half of the story. You’ll also want to consider the bonus T&Cs, and more specifically, whether they’re fair! For example, some online casinos accepting players from Florida have excessively high wagering requirements. This makes it far less likely that you’ll have any winnings to cashout by the time you’re done.

That’s where we come in with our carefully selected BTC & USD casinos with only the best Florida online casino bonuses listed below.

Florida Online Gambling & Sportsbooks in 2022

As of 2022, there are no legal online sportsbook or online casinos available in Florida, however there is a lot of activity ongoing with many bills and legislations going to vote but also disruptions to proceedings with on-going negotiations with the Seminole tribe.

The most recent changes could see further legislation action in 2023, and whilst online sports betting does look likely in the future, there may be a lot of hurdles to jump over before any law passes in Florida.

Best New Online Casinos in Florida

When hunting for the best Florida online gambling sites, is the casino bonus the only thing to consider? Certainly not! You’ll want to make sure that the casino is licensed and trustworthy. After all, the last thing you want is online casinos that won’t honor your cashout request.

You’ll also want to ensure that the online casino gambling provider accepts USD deposits/withdrawals (or BTC deposits/withdrawals if you prefer playing with Bitcoins). The greater the selection of payment options, the easier it will be to make deposits and withdrawals.

Slot machines, casino games, and specialty games can differ substantially between casinos. Not all casinos offer the same number of games in each category, so you’ll want to choose carefully.

Fortunately, we’ve presented our choice of the best new Florida online gambling sites below. See what makes them so exceptional for yourself by checking out the accompanying casino review. The days of driving to the nearest Florida tribal casino are thankfully a thing of the past!

Florida Gambling Laws Overview

Florida allows tribal casinos, pari-mutuel race track casinos (racinos), lotteries, and charity games. These are regulated under both state and federal laws. Land-based and online sports betting is not legal in the state. In fact, no online gambling is permitted but this may change in the near future as there are plans for Florida online casino sites and FL gambling sites to emerge.

Plans for online sports betting in Florida

Sen Jeff Brandes wants to legalize sports betting in Florida and filed a legislative proposal near the end of 2020: SB 392: Sports Wagering. Under this proposal, sports betting would be authorized and regulated online and at lottery kiosks, falling under the Florida Lottery.

There has been historical resistance from the Seminole Tribe, who believe they were given exclusive rights to all Class III gambling forms. Negotiations are ongoing.

Online casinos?

There is, at the moment, no legal provision for online gambling in Florida. If Floridians want to play online casino games, then they will have to take their chances with offshore online casinos, and the same goes for sports betting in the absence of any change in the law. Such a change is not outside the bounds of possibility, as there have been cases where state lawmakers reached deals with Indian tribes to allow online casino games in their states.

This is an issue that will continue to be negotiated among those with an interest in the outcome. Online casino gambling would make a lot of revenue for the state, and in a state with as many active pro sports teams as Florida, sports betting would also be popular. For as long as Florida residents continue to use out-of-state sources to gamble online, the state will be watching valuable revenue disappear into other economies, so it is in their interest to regulate online gambling.

For now, though, online casinos are not an option for residents of the state. We will keep this page updated, however, so that if it becomes legal to gamble online in Florida, you’ll be able to find that information out here. It’s expected that if and when online gambling in Florida does become legal, online casinos will be quick to take up the chance of offering their services to such a large market.

Lotteries

After a state lottery began operating in 1988, it began selling scratch-off tickets and statewide prize draw tickets. The Florida Lottery joined the Multi-State Lottery Association in July 2008, where it started selling interstate Powerball and Mega Millions tickets in May 2013. Tickets can be purchased legally at one of over 13,000 lottery retailers located across the state. Over 60 scratch-off tickets can be purchased from these retailers.

Social Gaming

Section 849.14, F.S., prohibits fantasy sports leagues from accepting entrance fees. The state considers that DFS, which rewards money, is a form of gambling but has not created laws to regulate it. Fantasy websites, including DraftKings and FanDuel, have not been deterred from accepting Florida players in the way online casino gambling has been restricted.

Charity Games

Lotteries, raffles, and other draws that involving chance are not considered legal in Florida. However, qualifying non-profit organizations can obtain a 501(c)(3) from the IRS. Still, these organizations must comply with federal and state laws which regulate online gambling. For instance, they must not charge a fee to participate – which is part of why online casinos cannot operate in the state.

Horse Racing and Pari-Mutuel

Off-track and inter-track horse racing, harness horse racing, jai alai, and cardroom poker is permitted at pari-mutuel facilities. In Miami-Dade and Broward, pari-mutuel facilities are also authorized to offer slot machines as an option.

For years, greyhound racing was also legal in Florida, but that came to an end with the close of 2020 after Florida voters chose to end the practice. Greyhound racing has been on the decline for decades.

Land-Based Casinos in Florida

The Seminoles are a federally recognized Indian tribe that owns and operates 6 Florida tribal casinos. Additionally, the Miccosukee tribe operates one casino. These Florida state tribal casinos offer hundreds of slot machines, high-stakes bingo, poker rooms, blackjack, mini-baccarat, electronic Roulette, Mississippi Stud, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Three Card Poker, and more. The state also allows pari-mutuel-style casinos (cardrooms) at race tracks (racinos).

Cruise ships that leave Florida waters for international waters are legal.

Florida Gambling History

In 1931 the Florida legislature voted to approve horse and dog racing legalization. Although Gov. Doyle Carlton attempted to veto the vote, he was overridden. Florida legalized Jai alai and slot machines in 1935. At the end of December 2020, Florida voters decided to end greyhound racing in the state.

In 1970 bingo was legalized. Later that same decade, in 1978, attempts for a full-blown casino gambling constitutional amendment was rejected. After opposing a limit on bingo games in Florida a year later, the Seminole tribe opened a high-stakes bingo hall in Broward County.

In 1986, voters again rejected an attempt for a full-scale casino gambling amendment to the constitution. That year was not all gloom for Florida gambling, as voters did approve the legalization of a state lottery that began operating in 1988.

The 1988 passing of the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act legalizing native tribal gambling led to the installation of video lottery machines. In 1989 poker rooms were built on Indian lands. On April 7, 2010, Florida signed a Gaming Compact with the Seminole Tribe.

Legalized poker became available at pari-mutuel facilities with parts of no more than $10 in 1996. Poker room bet limits were raised to a maximum of $2 in 2003, then $5 in 2007. In 2010 the limits on bets, pots, and tournaments were removed.

Florida has allowed land-based gambling since 2004. But it’s not without limitations. Casinos in the state are permitted, provided they don’t offer sports betting. Slot machines at pari-mutuel facilities in Broward and Miami–Dade were allowed after a constitutional amendment narrowly passed in 2004.

Meanwhile, the federal law changed in 2018 to allow states to permit their residents to gamble online. Florida is, to date, not one of the states that has allowed casino gambling in the wake of this decision, so online gambling remains out of reach for players in the state.

It’s hard to say when that might be, but in the wake of any change in the law it is expected that online casinos could be operational in the state very quickly.
